CLIMATE
Next to the sea and the ria, Aveiro is crossed by a network of canals where moliceiro boats travel.
We can cross the Ria by boat, passing through the salt flats and admire the whiteness of the salt, which in the summer forms pyramids drying in the sun. On the other side, the São Jacinto Dunes Natural Reserve is about 15 minutes away and has almost wild beaches.
Aveiro has a group of “Art Nouveau” style buildings that are worth appreciating. Much of it is located close to the main channel, but there are some off the traditional routes and even in other locations.

LANDSCAPES
Emblematic of the city is the sweet made with eggs and sugar, the “soft eggs” that are sold in wooden barrels or wrapped in a wafer dough crust in different shapes. But before the sweet tooth, we can comfort our stomach with the delicacies that the sea offers such as seafood, fresh fish grilled or in stews and the eels characteristic of this region, which are served in stews or marinades.
Having one of the first sun-dried cod companies in Portugal, Aveiro began making cod and seafood specialties, with a notable fishing port on its coast.
